What are the features of Tent Fabric?

PVC coated tent fabric is made with polyester scrim and coated with PVC. They are the most popular coated fabrics for different tent applications. Usually tent fabric require strong tearing strength, tensile strength, adhesion strength, waterproof, blockout, fireproof, anti-UV, long durable time and self-cleaning features etc.

Tearing, tensile and adhesion strength:
Tearing strength is the strength required to start or continue the tear in a fabric under specific condition & tearing force is the required to continue a tear previously started in a fabric.

Waterproof:
Water-resistant and waterproof often refer to resistance to penetration of water on the surface of PVC coated tent fabric and possibly under pressure, whereas damp proof refers to resistance to humidity or dampness. When we produce PVC coated tent fabric, waterproof is required.

Blockout:
Blockout/Opaque PVC Coated Tent Fabric, with high level of anti-UV to protect your tents from the sun, the 100% blockout is reducing the heat from the sun, to save energy from hot area. Blockout tent fabrics are opaque with black in the middle and do not allow most light to get through.

Fireproof:
Flame resistant or fire resistant materials are designed to prevent the spread of fire and withstand heat. Flame resistant materials should self-extinguish once the source of ignition is removed.

Anti-UV:
UV protection is also important for PVC coated tent fabric tarpaulin when we use for tent roof. UV rays will cause fading on the colors of PVC tarpaulin or cause white color to yellow.
